To teach your dog the art of luring is simple and can be taught just about anywhere.  In fact, very little space is needed to teach this command.  This command is important because it teaches your puppy to focus on you and to stop when you stop.

Teaching the command:

Get the puppy’s attention with a tasty treat

Once the puppy is focused on the treat, give the command “let’s go” and begin walking (your puppy should continue to focus on the treat)

After a few steps, stop, get the puppy to sit, and reward the puppy with the treat

Continue this method until the puppy has learned the command.   As the puppy becomes familiar with the command you can increase your distance and speed.
