Vaccinations For Your Dog

It is important to keep up on your dogs vaccinations. As with children a puppy needs to have several rounds of shots in the beginning. It is important to keep your dog healthy and keep up on the yearly vaccinations for your dog. It is better to pay the yearly vet fee than to have a sick dog and pay the enormous bills that go along with it.

Each state is different as far as vaccination laws, so make sure you check with your veterinarian on what is required in your state. Some states do allow you to give your own dog shots, but almost all states require your veterinarian to do some of the

When they are puppies they need a series of 3 shots, this is because at different times different puppies loose their momma’s immunity. It works the same with children as dogs in this area. Puppies get a series of shots to help prevent them from becoming sick.

These vaccinations for your puppy include:

1. 5 way puppy shot

  • Parvo
  • Coronavirus
  • Distemper
  • Adenovirus
  • Parainfluenza

As your puppy matures and becomes a dog, they will need a little different shots. Once your puppy is 15 weeks old they will only need yearly vaccinations for the 7-way shots. The bordatella also known as Kennel Cough generally needs to be given every 6 months. Some states require more vaccinations, it depends on your climate.
