Many of our puppies will be joining their forever homes within weeks.  One important thing to remember when your puppy Ashford Manor Labradoodle Douglas 2014joins your home is that it will require more sleep than an older dog.  A twelve-week-old puppy sleeps 15-20 hours a day, and often at unpredictable times.  Sleep is critical in brain development, and an immense amount of that development occurs when your little one is catching its zzz’s.  As your puppy continues to get older, its sleep patterns will become more routine and the amount of sleep will decrease.  So take advantage of the more frequent opportunities to curl up on the couch and snuggle with your new one… just in time for football season 😉
